Melissa Bethke, Senior Medical Writer

Melissa Bethke graduated cum laude from Villanova University with a degree in English. She started her career at IHS Environmental Information in Exton, Pennsylvania, as an editor for the company’s monthly CD-ROM publication of federal and state environmental health and safety regulations. She then entered the medical publishing field as a production editor at Lippincott Williams & Wilkins in Philadelphia, where she edited and managed the publication process of journals in the Current Opinion review series.

In April 1999, Melissa joined HealthAnswers Education as the company’s Technical Editor and was quickly promoted to Senior Editor. Soon thereafter, she transitioned to a writing role, and became Senior Writer of sales training materials. She developed sales training materials in all phases of product lifespan, from pre-launch home study materials to post-launch follow-up training. She served on the writing teams for several important product launches, including Tequin^® (Bristol-Myers Squibb), Natrecor^® (Scios Inc.), NovoLog^® and NovoLog^® Mix 70/30 (Novo Nordisk), and Humira^® (Abbott Laboratories), among many others.

Melissa joined ERS in August 2004 to focus on her specialty: Developing and writing materials for live training meetings. She writes clear and concise guides for facilitators and participants to make the training process easy for clients and interactive and fun for participants. Her expertise also includes creative scripts for videos and audio modules, games, and other training media.

Melissa ensures consistency of voice and high quality across the varying materials that often comprise an individual project. Her editorial background guarantees precision and attention to detail in every step of the training development process.
